The term "windage" refers to the horizontal alignment of a firearm, usually a rifle or a gun, in relation to the target. In the context of firearms, it is the lateral deviation of the bullet's trajectory due to the gun's and ammunition's design and alignment.
For example, if a gun is sighted in at one hundred yards, but fires high and to the right at that range, the windage is said to be 3 inches to the right.
