The Táoiseach, also known as the An Taoiseach, is the head of the government and the head of government of Ireland. Here are five possible usages of this term:
Example 1: Government and Politics
The Táoiseach is advised by various officials, including the Chief of Staff, the Secretary General of the Department of the Táoiseach, and the Attorney General. The Táoiseach is responsible for setting the agendas of cabinet meetings and for introducing new items for discussion. The Táoiseach appoints the other ministers but the President appoints the Táoiseach. The Táoiseach is the leader of the majority party in the Dáil (the lower house of the Irish parliament). The Táoiseach chairs the National Security Committee and National Security Committee meetings.
