Sverdlovsk (also known as Yekaterinburg) is a city in Russia, and it was originally named after Yakov Sverdlov, a Bolshevik leader who was born there.
A unit of volume equal to one million cubic meters, used primarily to measure the volume of water in lakes, reservoirs, and the ocean. It is named after the Norwegian oceanographer Johan Sverdrup.
