"Smirk" Natural Recordings by Native Speakers
A slight, often scornful, smile.
Smilodon was a prehistoric mammal that lived in the Americas during the Pleistocene epoch. It was a large predatory cat, also known as the "saber-toothed tiger" due to its distinctive elongated canine teeth, which were up to 30 cm (12 in) long. The name "Smilodon" comes from the Greek words "smile" and "odous", meaning "tooth". Smilodon fossils have been found in various parts of North and South America, and are known for their massive size, powerful build, and specialized hunting habits.
