Orthogenesis is a term used in biology, particularly in the field of evolutionary theory. Orthodromy is the shortest distance between two points on a sphere, such as the Earth, measured along a great circle. In other words, an orthodromic path is the shortest route between two points on the surface of the Earth, without taking into account the obstacles or constraints of real-world transportation systems. This term is commonly used in geography and navigation.
Orthogonal refers to a relationship between two lines, surfaces, or vectors that are at a 90-degree angle to each other. In other words, they are perpendicular, forming a right angle (90 degrees).
