"Kristallnacht" Natural Recordings by Native Speakers
Kristallnacht, also known as the Night of Broken Glass, was a pogrom in Nazi Germany that occurred on November 9-10, 1938, in which thousands of Jewish-owned businesses were looted and destroyed, and hundreds of synagogues were set on fire. The attacks were triggered by the assassination of a German diplomatic official in Paris, Ernst vom Rath, by a young Jewish man named Herschel Grynszpan. The SS and SA stormed synagogues, Jewish homes, and businesses, and the German government tacitly tolerated the violence. The name "Kristallnacht" refers to the scattered glass and debris that remained after the attacks.

The goal of Kriegspiel is to test and refine military tactics, strategy, and decision-making skills in a realistic but lower-risk setting.
Kritarchy is a form of government where judges or other magistrates hold the power instead of the elected representatives or a monarch. In a kritarchy, the decision-making authority is held by those with expertise in the law, rather than being a function of political office or hereditary succession. The word is derived from the Greek words "krinein," meaning "to judge," and "arkhos," meaning "ruler."
