"Indention" Natural Recordings by Native Speakers
Indentation refers to the practice of setting a block of text or code apart from the rest of the text or code by indenting it with spaces or tabs. This is often done to indicate a hierarchical structure, such as in programming languages or to make a quotation or block of text stand out from the surrounding text. The word "indent" comes from the idea of cutting a rectangular block out of a piece of paper, creating a small notch or indentation on one edge, which is then used to identify or separate the block of text.
